Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Caleb Reimer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dick Kidd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Reimer comes to the cage accompanied by BLUNT- The Iron Maiden. Kidd is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Joe Esposito - You're the best. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Caleb Reimer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dick Kidd!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Damien Edna and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kidd tries to clinch but Reimer is having none of it.
Reimer lands a nice looking body shot.
Kidd walks into a straight right hand from Reimer.
Kidd misses with a looping right.
Caleb Reimer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Reimer cracks the inside of Kidd's front leg.
Kidd will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Reimer shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Kidd sprawls well. Kidd wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Reimer gets slowly back to his feet.
Reimer moves in looking to clinch but Kidd pushes him off.

Reimer looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kidd is fending him off so far but Reimer persists. Nope, Kidd circles away and we're back to standing.

Reimer lands a really nice looking cross but Kidd seems unphased.

and Reimer counters with a leg kick.
Reimer fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kidd avoids it really well and circles away.

Kidd wants to stand but Reimer is controlling the position.

Reimer perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kidd is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Kidd is positioning himself well to prevent Reimer advancing to mount.

Reimer tries to pass the half guard into mount. Kidd knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Kidd really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Reimer. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

and Reimer counters with a good low kick that Kidd was not able to check.

Reimer swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

and Kidd counters with a three punch combo that has Reimer backing up. Reimer nods at Kidd to acknowledge the strikes.

Kidd moves out of range of the body kick.
Kidd lands a nice hook to Reimer's body. Reimer takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Kidd ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Reimer has closed the distance and engaged Kidd in a clinch.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

Kidd wants to break the clinch but can't.
Nice elbow from Reimer.

Reimer lands an elbow inside that Kidd shrugs off.

Reimer throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Kidd on the side of the head.

and Kidd counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Reimer is lucky that one didn't land flush.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kidd can do anything to dispel that myth.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Reimer has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
