Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dominic Estes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and JJ Steel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Estes comes into the arena with Shout by Disturbed blaring out of the sound system. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dominic Estes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, JJ Steel!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Bruno Lombardi and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Estes rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Steel moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Estes misses with a wild combination.
Horrible takedown by Steel or perhaps it was just good defense by Estes which made him look bad.
Estes lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.


It looks like JJ Steel has been cut.

Estes closes the distance and clinches.
Steel is trying to stall.
Steel jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Estes walks away with a smile on his face. Steel gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Estes digs a good hook to Steel's body.
Estes misses with a jab, cross combination.
Estes scores with a punch to the head.

Estes lands with a good body shot.
Steel looks gassed!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Estes counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Steel's guard now.

Estes working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Estes trying to move into half guard but instead Steel has managed to sweep!
Estes seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Estes wants to sweep here but Steel controlling him for the moment.
Steel tries to free his leg and advance position but Estes is retaining full guard.
Estes is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Steel slips a jab and a cross from Estes.

Steel tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Estes smiles and moves away.

Steel ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Estes has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Steel stands and throws Estes's legs to the side, diving into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Estes closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Estes has hold of one of Steel's legs. Steel is fighting the takedown attempt but Estes gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Estes stops Steel from standing up.

Estes is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Steel is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Steel has escaped and now he's on top!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Steel takes his opponent's back. Perhaps a chance to lock up a rear naked choke here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Steel manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Estes misses with a wild combination.
Steel clinches but Estes breaks the clinch

and Estes counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Estes is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Steel defends it well.

Estes maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Steel could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Estes has cracked it and Steel is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Estes!
