The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McDowell uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Rua.
McDowell on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
McDowell fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
McDowell steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Rua.
Rua swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Rua thows a left - swing and a miss!
A head kick from McDowell lands but Rua takes it in his stride.
Rua scores with a punch to the head.
Rua misses with a straight left.
McDowell connects with a high kick.
McDowell uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Rua.
Rua misses with a straight right.

McDowell misses with a head kick.
McDowell ducks under a wild hook from Rua.
McDowell blocks a jab.

McDowell throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Rua has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by McDowell.
McDowell has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Rua finds it's way round the side to connect with McDowell's head.
Rua uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by McDowell.
A punch combination from Rua misses.
Rua throws an uppercut from half a mile away. McDowell sees it coming and avoids it easily.
A solid leg kick lands there for McDowell.
Rua uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Frank Rua is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
McDowell displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Rua throws out the jab.
McDowell scores with a nice body kick.

Rua on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by McDowell. McDowell obviously looking to wear him down.
A punch lands to the side of McDowell 's head but he takes it in his stride.
McDowell throws a leg kick which misses Rua's front leg but catches the back leg as Rua tries to avoid it.
Rua is breathing heavily.

Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from McDowell! Rua is out on his feet! McDowell rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Rua is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Rua is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
