Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Louden Swain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Apollo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ryan Apollo has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Louden Swain!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ryan Apollo!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Robert Twigg and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Swain connects with a good right hand that stumbles Apollo. Apollo circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Swain swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Swain throws a hook but Apollo blocks it.
Horrible takedown by Swain or perhaps it was just good defense by Apollo which made him look bad.
Apollo slips under a jab from Swain.
Apollo moves out of range of the strikes.
Swain shoots in but no luck this time.
Swain fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Apollo avoids it really well and circles away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Louden Swain. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Swain lands a jab to Apollo's midsection.
A telegraphed right hand from Swain misses the target.
The crowd cheers as Apollo lands an impressive looking overhand right. Swain doesn't seem phased though.
Apollo misses with a hook. Swain ducked under it nicely.

Swain scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Apollo doesn't seem bothered though.
Swain is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Apollo.
Apollo moves into range and connects with a jab.

Swain thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Apollo is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Apollo is controlling Swain's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Apollo is looking for a sweep. Swain is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Swain wants to free his trapped foot but Apollo is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Swain prevents Apollo from improving his position.
Apollo manages to get to full guard.

Apollo is trying to control the position but Swain postures up.

Apollo is looking to sweep but instead, Swain has passed into half guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Apollo is trying to control but can't.

Swain is working for a kimura here but Apollo manages to reverse the position and he's now in Swain's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Swain keeping moving, preventing Apollo from controlling successfully.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Ryan Apollo will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Swain ducks under a wild hook from Apollo.
Apollo throws a lazy right hand but Swain sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Swain misses with an uppercut. Apollo saw that one coming.
Apollo avoids the body shot from Swain.
Apollo uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Swain.
Apollo misses with an uppercut.
Jab from Apollo.
Apollo blocks a jab.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Apollo throws out a loose jab but Swain uses good head movement to avoid it.
Nice defenses there by Apollo.
Swain swings for the body but Apollo moves out of range.
Swain scores with a body shot.

A big right from Swain misses.

Swain darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Apollo keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Apollo moves into full guard.
Apollo looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Swain puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Apollo wants to improve his position but Swain is controlling well.

Apollo is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Swain wants to take a breather but Apollo is having none of it.

Apollo looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Swain is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Apollo is trying to control but Swain manages to pass to mount!
Apollo is squirming around, avoiding Swain's attempts to control the action.
Apollo can't escape the position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Swain is working for a guillotine from mount but Apollo frees his head quite easily.
Swain looking to control and managing it successfully.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Louden Swain dominated that second round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Swain throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Apollo's waist but Apollo gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Swain off to one side.
Apollo staying out of range there.
Apollo throws a hook but Swain blocks it.
Apollo misses with a body shot.
Swain throws an overhand right that lands on Apollo's shoulder, as Apollo tries to avoid the shot.
Apollo lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.


It looks like Louden Swain has been cut.
Swain displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Apollo throws out the jab.
Apollo defending well as Swain loads up on a big left hand.
Swain pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Apollo thows a body shot but no joy.

That's one minute gone in the round.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Swain.
Swain on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Apollo moves out of range as Swain strikes.

Swain feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Swain takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Apollo is trying to control but Swain manages to pass to mount!

Swain controlling from mount.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Swain throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Apollo because Swain loaded up on that one.
Swain throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Apollo is working to get back to half guard.
Apollo is in a horrible position here. Swain smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Swain lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Swain lands with some strikes.
Swain controlling his opponent.
Swain landing punches.
Swain lands a nice shot to the head.
Swain postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Apollo looks a forlorn figure.

And that's the end of the fight!
Louden Swain showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Swain has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
