Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Poor Matt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Greig Smith!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Konstantin Menshow and Dmitry Maklakov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matt tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
A head kick misses from Matt.
Matt shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Matt was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Smith wants to hold on but Matt pushes him away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Matt with shots to the head and body - Smith looks very uncomfortable down there.
It looks like Greig Smith has been cut.
Matt landing strikes from the mount and Smith is in trouble!
Smith tries to reverse the position but Matt maintains control.
Smith wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Matt.
Matt lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Smith hang on?
The cut above Greig Smith's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Greig Smith's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Poor Matt!
