Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Wilda Beest (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Van Rutten (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Wilda Beest!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Van Rutten!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Summer Carpenter and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Beest clinches with his opponent.
Rutten missing with knees to the body.
Beest drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Beest has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Rutten clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Beest tries to get the hooks in deep but Rutten pushed the leg off.
Beest knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rutten on the ground.
Beest gets his hooks in and is throwing strikes.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Good control from Beest.
Can Rutten hold on?! Beest is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.
Beest doesn't have the hooks in and Rutten manages to turn into his guard.
Rutten stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Beest swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Rutten with a flurry of punches that miss.
Rutten is looking to work some ground and pound but Beest has wrist control.
Beest is trying to control the position but Rutten postures up.
Beest looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Rutten prevents Beest from getting back to his feet.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Rutten misses with a head kick.

Beest drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Beest wants to control from the top but Rutten keeps moving.

Beest pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Rutten is keeping the position for now.

Rutten looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Beest has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Rutten looks gassed!

Rutten has his foot on Beest's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Beest works his way back into a safe position though.
Beest tries to free his leg and advance position but Rutten is retaining full guard.
Beest working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Beest throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Rutten works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Rutten is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Beest chips away with some ground and pound.
Rutten wants to sweep but no luck.
Beest lands a couple of digs.
Beest wants to stand but Rutten is controlling his posture from full guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Beest avoids the head kick by Rutten.

Beest closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Rutten to the mat! Rutten manages to get full guard.

Rutten working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Beest doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Beest manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Rutten wants to sweep but no luck.

Beest controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Rutten thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Beest seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Rutten seems to have recovered his senses.
Rutten throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Beest makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Beest throws a big right hand that misses.
Rutten throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Beest chips away with some ground and pound.
Beest scoring with some ground and pound.
Rutten has a closed guard, preventing Beest from standing up.
Beest is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Rutten has momentary wrist control but Beest slips an elbow through the middle.
Rutten tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Beest trying to control but Rutten is working from the bottom.
Rutten throwing strikes off his back to little effect.

Beest wants to pass the guard but Rutten is keeping the position.
Rutten has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Beest avoids the head kick by Rutten.
Beest throws a head kick that Rutten semi-blocks.
Rutten throws a head kick but Beest moves out of range.
Rutten throws a lazy head kick
and Beest counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Rutten is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Beest! Rutten is out on his feet! Beest rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Rutten is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Rutten is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Wilda Beest!
