The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Exley on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Exley fails with an attempt to clinch.

R blocks a low kick nicely.
R stuffs the takedown.
Exley wants to clinch up but R keeps it at a distance.

R closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - R lands in his opponent's guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as R accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Exley has his foot on R's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. R works his way back into a safe position though.
R postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
R wants to control from the top but Exley keeps moving.

R escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Exley gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
R wants to hit a switch here but Exley passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for R there!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Exley cracks R with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

R is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
R is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Exley is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. R is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. R flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Exley anticipates the leg and manages to get behind R and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Exley slips an arm under R chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Exley has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Exley is squeezing on R like an anaconda would it's prey. R fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
