Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Wilson Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brian Hopewell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hopewell slips a straight right by Williams.
Hopewell lands a jab-cross combination.
Hopewell throws a right and a left that both miss.
Williams pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Hopewell clinches up against the cage.

Hopewell pulls guard.
Williams trying to control the position from guard on top but Hopewell is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Hopewell wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Hopewell has his foot on Williams's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Williams works his way back into a safe position though.

Hopewell had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Williams defends it easily.

Hopewell lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Williams!
Williams is desperately trying to improve his position but Hopewell has a good base and remains in mount.

Hopewell is trying to control the action in half guard but Williams is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Hopewell is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Hopewell is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Williams is just riding it out for now. Hopewell eventually gives up the hold.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Williams is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Hopewell pulls his head out easily.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
