Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jamal Hudak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick shannon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). shannon is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: yesterdays headlines. On his way into the cage it seems that Jamal Hudak has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Jamal Hudak seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jamal Hudak!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
10 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nick shannon!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Russell Pearce and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hudak misses with a looping left.
shannon misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Nick shannon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
shannon tries a head kick but it misses.
shannon throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Hudak lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Hudak blocks a head kick by shannon.
Hudak darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Hudak wants to lay and pray for a moment but shannon keeps working.
Still in half guard, Hudak seems content to control.
Hudak trying to control the action but shannon is working from the bottom.
Hudak moves into full mount! shannon won't be happy about that!

Hudak lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Hudak takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
shannon is in all sorts of trouble here.

shannon is squirming around, avoiding Hudak's attempts to control the action.
Hudak punching from mount but shannon doing a good job of avoiding damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hudak throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Hudak working for a submission but shannon is keeping him at bay.

Hudak can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as shannon is looking to escape.
shannon keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Hudak looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Hudak pushing the pace here, looking to move to his opponents back and work for a finish.
shannon is trying desperately to improve position.

Hudak is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. shannon can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

shannon defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Hudak.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Hudak jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… shannon is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by shannon and Hudak has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Hudak is looking to take a break and control but shannon is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Hudak's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
shannon clinches up against the cage.
shannon trying to land knees to the body.
Hudak wants the takedown. shannon is fighting it off but Hudak persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in shannon's guard against the cage.
shannon is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Hudak working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
shannon controls Hudak momentarily but Hudak frees himself.
Hudak throwing strikes but missing.
Hudak wants to control from the top but shannon keeps moving.
Hudak stands and throws shannon's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Hudak wants to take a breather but shannon manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Hudak.
Hudak is pushing down on shannon's leg trying to pass to half guard. shannon is fighting to maintain full guard but Hudak has managed to sneak the leg through.
shannon wants to improve his position but Hudak is controlling well.
shannon is in trouble now - Hudak has advanced to mount!

Hudak is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Hudak!
