The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Venture lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Silva has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Silva and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Venture throws a body punch but Silva moves out of range.
Venture throws out a leg kick but Silva moves out of range and Venture only half commits.
Venture looking to land some kicks to the body here.

Venture closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Venture lands in his opponent's guard.
Venture throws a big right hand that misses.

Silva is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Venture is aware though and is defending well.

Silva has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Venture can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Venture distracts Silva with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Venture wants to control from the top but Silva keeps moving.
Venture throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Silva works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Silva is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Silva seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Venture does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Venture keeping hold of Silva's head, controlling as best he can.

Venture wants to lay and pray for a moment but Silva keeps working.
The strikes coming from Venture are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Venture connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Silva some visible discomfort.

Venture loads up on a big left hand. Silva felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Venture looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Silva can't hide his disappointment, as Venture celebrates the victory.
