Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jean Sibelius!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kolya Morozov!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Arvi Lind and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morozov misses with a low kick.
Morozov throws a right and a left that Sibelius avoids nicely.

Morozov gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Sibelius to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Sibelius stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Morozov swivels though and keeps the full guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sibelius accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Sibelius trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Sibelius stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Morozov swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Sibelius is working hard here to advance position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Morozov wants to sweep here but Sibelius controlling him for the moment.
Morozov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sibelius. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Morozov drives through with a takedown into guard.
Sibelius manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Morozov is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Sibelius wants to control the pace but Morozov is squirming around nicely.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sibelius takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Morozov can do anything to dispel that myth.

Morozov really wants to buck Sibelius off and get back to his feet.

It looks like Kolya Morozov has been cut.
Sibelius has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Sibelius lands a big elbow.

Sibelius lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Sibelius sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Sibelius cracks Morozov with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
BOOM! Sibelius connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Morozov is squirming around, avoiding Sibelius's attempts to control the action.
Morozov is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Sibelius looking to control but Morozov is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Sibelius is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Morozov can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Sibelius thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sibelius looking to finish Morozov with some ground and pound. This is bad for Morozov!
Sibelius breaks from Morozov's wrist control and lands an elbow.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jean Sibelius dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Kolya Morozov's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Morozov shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Sibelius counters with a nice double leg into side control. Morozov won't be happy with that.
Sibelius connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Morozov some visible discomfort.
Sibelius working the ground and pound but Morozov is defending the strikes.

Sibelius throws a strike aimed at the side of Morozov's head but Morozov avoids it well.

Sibelius is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Morozov looks calm but he's in trouble here. Sibelius gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Morozov is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Sibelius lets go of the hold and Morozov can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:47 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Jean Sibelius!
