Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Julius Guida!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Shawn Tryant!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Arvi Lind and Roosa Järviläinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tryant looks for a takedown but Guida sprawls well.
The fight stays on the outside here - Tryant looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Tryant misses with a head kick.

Guida thows a huge punch but Tryant dodges it nicely.
Tryant is looking to control Guida's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Tryant avoid being mounted?
Tryant is looking for a sweep. Guida is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Guida lands a nice short elbow.
Tryant is refusing to be controlled, as Guida sits in half guard.

Guida thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Tryant's head.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Guida drives through with a takedown into guard.
Tryant wants to stand up but Guida is controlling him.
Tryant is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Tryant is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Guida is just riding it out for now. Tryant eventually gives up the hold.

Tryant tries to close the distance and clinch but Guida swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

and Tryant counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Guida is lucky that one didn't land flush.

That was a close round but I would say that Julius Guida will probably get the nod.

Guida closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Tryant is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Guida is controlling him well.

Guida is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Tryant still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Tryant has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

Guida closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Guida lands in his opponent's guard.
Guida prevents Tryant from getting back to his feet.
Tryant is pulling down on Guida's head. It's preventing any offense from Guida, at least for the moment.
Tryant wants to get back to his feet but Guida is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Tryant is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Guida's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Guida's back!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Guida just trying to survive but Tryant is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Tryant is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Tryant gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Tryant gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Tryant apologises and we restart here on the feet.
Guida looks for a takedown but Tryant sprawls well.

and Tryant counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Tryant.

Tryant is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Guida can't fight it off and eventually Tryant manages to take the fight to the floor. Guida looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Tryant wants to get up but he can't break Guida's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Guida is looking to work some ground and pound but Tryant has wrist control.

and Guida counters with a nice double leg into side control. Tryant won't be happy with that.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Guida wants to control but Tryant is keeping him busy.

The strikes coming from Guida are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Guida prevents Tryant from escaping the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Guida throws a strike aimed at the side of Tryant's head but Tryant avoids it well.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Guida thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Julius Guida overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Tryant tries to buck Guida off but Guida is having none of it.
And that's the end of the fight!
Shawn Tryant comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Tryant has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
