Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Alex Andre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and VJ Mithani (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mithani has chosen Forever - Drake, Kanye West, Lil Wayne and Eminem as his entrance music. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Alex Andre!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, VJ Mithani!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Nard Betker and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Andre misses with a hook.
Andre is looking to clinch but Mithani is avoiding it.
Andre fails with an attempt to clinch.
Mithani misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Andre cracks Mithani with a good jab.
Mithani slips a jab and a cross from Andre.
Andre throws a jab but it's blocked by Mithani.
Mithani fails with the takedown.
Mithani keeps the fight on the outside.
Andre misses the shot to the body.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Nice takedown defense from Andre. No joy for Mithani on that attempt.
Alex Andre has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of VJ Mithani.
Andre tries to close the distance and clinch up but Mithani swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Mithani steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Andre.
A big left from Andre misses.

Mithani looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Andre!
Andre is working to get back to half guard.

Mithani looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

Mithani looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Mithani with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Andre is looking to improve his position but Mithani isn't that keen on the idea.
Andre tries to hold on but Mithani pushes him away.

Mithani goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Andre is on top in guard.

Mithani looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Mithani keeping moving, preventing Andre from controlling successfully.
Andre advances to half guard.

Mithani looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mithani looks gassed!
Andre uses his free foot to push down on Mithani's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Mithani.
Andre looking to control and managing it successfully.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Andre with the ground and pound from mount.

Andre moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Mithani has worked his arm free - good work by Mithani!
Mithani is looking to reverse the position.
Andre wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mithani keeps working.
Mithani takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Andre trying to control the position but Mithani is working away.
Andre is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Mithani is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alex Andre dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Andre moves into the clinch.
Mithani blocking some punches.

Andre pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Mithani shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Andre misses with a hook.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Andre attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Andre throws a right hand that Mithani ducks under and follows up with a left that Mithani also avoids with ease.
Mithani fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Andre tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Mithani was well out of range. Poor timing from Andre.

Alex Andre has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of VJ Mithani.
Andre stuffs the takedown attempt from Mithani. Mithani gets slowly back to his feet.
Andre lands a jab to the head.
Mithani uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Andre.
Andre misses with a straight right.
Andre throws a hook but Mithani blocks it.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Mithani ducks under a wild hook from Andre.
Andre fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Andre stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Andre wants it to stay on the feet.
Andre defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Mithani.
Mithani ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Mithani decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Andre moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Mithani stopping the sweep attempt from Andre.

Andre looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Andre is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Andre tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Mithani has gone for a leg lock! Andre slips out almost immediately though and dives into Mithani's guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Andre accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Mithani looking to hit a scissor sweep but Andre is one step ahead there.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Mithani is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Mithani is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Andre is aware though and is defending well.
Mithani is breathing heavily.

Mithani throws his legs up looking for a submission but Andre uses it to pass to side control.

Andre tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Andre has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Mithani is looking to regain half guard here but Andre keeps moving and retains side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Andre's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Andre lands a jab to the nose.
Andre connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Mithani moves out of range as Andre strikes.
Andre connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Mithani momentarily.
Mithani takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Andre swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Andre thuds his right hand into Mithani's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Andre throws a nice looking combination but Mithani bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Andre tries to clinch up but Mithani circles away and keeps his distance.
The fighters circling - Andre throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

A jab from Andre misses.
Mithani misses with a takedown attempt - Andre sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Andre closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
A short body shot lands from Andre as the two fighters clinch.
Mithani can't get the takedown.
Andre tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Andre lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Andre stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Andre lands a right hand.
Andre working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Andre lands with a light punch inside.
A nice right hand lands inside from Andre.
Andre stops a takedown attempt from Mithani.
Alex Andre has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of VJ Mithani.
Mithani takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Andre is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Mithani wants a takedown but no success here.

Andre's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Andre thows a left - swing and a miss!
Andre throws a jab but it's blocked by Mithani.
Andre is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Andre misses the jab.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Some bone on bone action there as Mithani checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
A cross from Andre lands.
Mithani keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Mithani tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Andre paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Andre bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Mithani's head backwards.
Mithani moves out of range of the strikes.
Mithani takes one on the button.
Alex Andre is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Andre lands with an uppercut that bounces Mithani off the cage and back into rage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Mithani bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Mithani blocks the body kick.
Andre ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Mithani moves away.
Andre throws a hook to the side of Mithani's head but Mithani sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Andre throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Mithani checks a leg kick.
Andre throws a lazy right hand but Mithani sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Andre takes a swing at Mithani's ribcage but misses.

And that's the end of the fight!
Alex Andre showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Andre has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
