Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Barry Convex!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Steven Brown and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McMulligan lands with an overhand left.
Convex throws a series of punches but McMulligan moves out of range.
McMulligan throws a sloppy head kick and Convex moves out of range easily.
Horrible takedown by McMulligan or perhaps it was just good defense by Convex which made him look bad.
Convex wants to clinch.
McMulligan avoids the head kick by Convex.

Convex clinches up against the cage.
McMulligan lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Convex should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Convex escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Convex takes a jab right on the kisser.
McMulligan fails with an attempt to clinch.
Convex moves in looking to clinch but McMulligan pushes him off.
Convex throws a head kick that misses.
Convex avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

McMulligan wriggles free and stands up.
Convex throws a sloppy head kick and McMulligan moves out of range easily.

McMulligan drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
McMulligan postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

McMulligan tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Convex paws at him with a jab and circles away.
McMulligan will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Convex lands with a kick to the temple. McMulligan shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
McMulligan misses with a few strikes there.
McMulligan is looking to clinch but Convex is avoiding it.
Convex lands with a slapping head kick.
Convex throws a right hand that McMulligan ducks under and follows up with a left that McMulligan also avoids with ease.

The fight stays on the outside here - McMulligan looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

McMulligan is looking to clinch but Convex is avoiding it.
Convex tries to score a power double leg takedown but McMulligan sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Convex somewhat.

Convex throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

McMulligan is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

Convex drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Convex jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
McMulligan wants to stand but Convex is controlling the position.

McMulligan throws a sloppy head kick and Convex moves out of range easily.
Convex throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

McMulligan shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Convex napping and manages to drive through into side control!
McMulligan tries to stand but Convex is controlling his head.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Convex is desperately trying to improve his position but McMulligan has a good base and remains in mount.
McMulligan misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Convex wants to hold on but McMulligan pushes him away.

Convex is squirming around, avoiding McMulligan's attempts to control the action.
McMulligan with a couple of short strikes.
McMulligan wants to control the pace but Convex is squirming around nicely.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

McMulligan will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

I think Convex has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
