Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dave Weicikilla (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Baz Baldwin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baldwin connects with a high kick.

It looks like Dave Weicikilla has been cut.
Weicikilla fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Baldwin misses with a hook. Weicikilla ducked under it nicely.

Baldwin gets caught flat footed, as Weicikilla shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Weicikilla tries to free his leg and advance position but Baldwin is retaining full guard.

Weicikilla thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Baldwin is trying to control the position but Weicikilla postures up.
Weicikilla wants to pass the guard but Baldwin is keeping the position.
Weicikilla passes Baldwin's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Baldwin wants to get back to his feet.

Baldwin is defending against the submission attempts here by Weicikilla.
Baldwin has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Weicikilla is working away from the top position though.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Weicikilla misses with a takedown attempt - Baldwin sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Weicikilla is breathing heavily.

Weicikilla closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Weicikilla lands in his opponent's guard.
