The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hart looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Mekhar shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Hart sprawls well. Hart wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Mekhar gets slowly back to his feet.
Mekhar swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Mekhar is looking to clinch but Hart is avoiding it.

Mekhar is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Hart has managed to free his arm - good work.

Mekhar is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Hart is just riding it out for now. Mekhar eventually gives up the hold.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Hart is looking to slow Mekhar down with leg kicks.

Mekhar dips to his left and cracks Hart with an uppercut!
Mekhar changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hart tries to avoid it but Mekhar manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hart to the ground. Hart escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
A head kick misses from Hart.
Mekhar shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Hart as he avoids it easily.
Both fighters circling a little - Hart finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.

Hart decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Hart gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Hart lands an elbow that stopped Mekhar in his tracks for a moment.

Mekhar jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Hart walks away with a smile on his face. Mekhar gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Good leg kick by Hart there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Hart feints and then cracks Mekhar's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Mekhar down.

Mekhar tries to pass the half guard into mount. Hart knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Hart wants to control but Mekhar is keeping busy and won't allow it.

That's time! Hart's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Hart feints and then cracks Mekhar's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Mekhar down.

Mekhar tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Mekhar has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Hart.
Mekhar takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Hart throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Mekhar's head.

Mekhar has gone for a leg lock! Hart slips out almost immediately though and dives into Mekhar's guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Mekhar is refusing to be controlled, as Hart sits in half guard.

Mekhar has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Hart is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Mekhar.
