PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Delson Ribeiro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Potemkin Buster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ribeiro comes to the ring accompanied by Racionais MC's - Expresso da Meia-Noite. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Delson Ribeiro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Potemkin Buster!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Seu Braga and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Buster shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Ribeiro defends it nicely.
Buster fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Buster changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Ribeiro looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Buster working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Buster is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Ribeiro has escaped the position, nice work there.

Ribeiro is trying to control Buster's posture but Buster avoids it.

Buster wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Ribeiro, who protects the arm well.

Buster is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Ribeiro sees it coming and defends easily.

Buster is actively looking for submissions here but good counter grappling here from Ribeiro as he works his way to full guard.

Buster is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Buster is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Ribeiro is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Ribeiro has escaped and now he's on top!
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ribeiro accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Ribeiro slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Buster parries the strikes from Ribeiro easily there. Ribeiro is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Buster to escape.
Ribeiro wants to lay and pray for a moment but Buster keeps working.

Buster might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Ribeiro kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Buster is looking to reverse the position.

Ribeiro has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Buster can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

That was a close round but I would say that Delson Ribeiro will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Buster gets control of Ribeiro's arms and successfully pulls guard. Buster will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Ribeiro throws a strike but Buster rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Buster drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Ribeiro dives on top into guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Buster can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Ribeiro controls the pace.

Delson Ribeiro showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Ribeiro, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
