The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed right hand from Van Damme misses the target.
Van Damme looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Van Damme scores with a nice head shot.

Venture throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Van Damme was covering up waiting for the punch and Venture finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Venture postures up in Van Damme's guard and throws a big left but Van Damme blocks it.
Venture trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Venture controlling from the top position.
Venture wants to control from the top but Van Damme keeps moving.
Van Damme is trying to control the position but Venture postures up.

Venture with a flurry of punches that miss.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Van Damme is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Venture wants to control from the top but Van Damme keeps moving.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Van Damme looks to land a combination but Venture avoids it well.
Van Damme throws a shot from downtown. Venture moves away and avoids it.
Venture misses with a wild body shot.

Venture closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Van Damme did well to prevent Venture getting side control.
Venture thows a huge punch but Van Damme dodges it nicely.

Van Damme is looking to control Venture's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Van Damme avoid being mounted?
Van Damme wants to stand back up but Venture manages to pass into side control.

Van Damme bucks up and tries to throw Venture off but instead Venture has got his back!
Oooh a big shot gets through from Venture. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!

Venture throwing wild punches that miss their target.
Venture is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Venture gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Venture gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Venture apologises and we restart here on the feet.
No joy there for Van Damme, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Venture fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Van Damme sprawls well initially but Venture persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Venture throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Venture takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Van Damme is breathing heavily.
Venture not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Venture connects with a nice short shot to Van Damme's temple.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Venture lands a nice short elbow.
Oh Van Damme is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Venture lands a big elbow - Van Damme is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Venture!
