Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Maximo Meridio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Slim Shadie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Meridio's entrance music is O Fortuna - Carl Orff. A fine choice. Slim Shadie is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shadie ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Shadie moves out of range of the strikes.
Meridio throws the left hand but Shadie avoids the punch easily.
Meridio throws a leg kick but Shadie sees it coming and moves out of range.
Meridio misses with a body punch
and Shadie makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Shadie shoots in and bounces Meridio off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Meridio stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Shadie swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Meridio got a little sloppy there for a moment and Shadie has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Meridio has managed to get both his arms back between Shadie's legs - danger averted.

Meridio is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Shadie is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Shadie has escaped and now he's on top!

Shadie swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Meridio is now in Shadie's guard. A big mistake from Shadie there, giving up the dominant position!

Shadie moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Meridio has worked his arm free - good work by Meridio!

Shadie cracks Meridio with a big right hand but Meridio just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Meridio manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Meridio is stalling here. Shadie is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Meridio seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Shadie has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

The strikes coming from Shadie are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Meridio regains half guard, as Shadie was trying to land strikes.
Shadie looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Meridio with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Meridio is sitting in close to Shadie's body. Shadie has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Meridio is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Meridio is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Shadie.
