The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Canonfodder takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Canonfodder swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Alverez throws a shot from downtown. Canonfodder moves away and avoids it.
Alverez throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Canonfodder's waist but Canonfodder gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Alverez off to one side.

Alverez drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Canonfodder gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Alverez tries to clinch there but Canonfodder circles away.

A looping hook to the body misses from Canonfodder. Alverez does a little dance to reset his feet.
Alverez slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Alverez shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Canonfodder pinned against the cage. Canonfodder gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Alverez shoots for a double leg takedown but Canonfodder sprawls well. He's pushed Alverez's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Alverez tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Canonfodder was well out of range. Poor timing from Alverez.

A decent looking cross lands there for Canonfodder.
Canonfodder is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Alverez lands with a straight right. Canonfodder didn't see that one coming.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Canonfodder is defended easily by Alverez.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Canonfodder displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Alverez throws out the jab.
