The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Villa shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Penn is trying to defend but Villa finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Villa is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Penn tries to roll over but Villa keeps him under control.
Villa is stalling here. Penn is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Villa seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Penn has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Penn stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Penn lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Villa circles away quickly and effectively.

Villa shoots for a takedown but Penn saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Penn throws a right hand that Villa ducks under and follows up with a left that Villa also avoids with ease.

Villa shoots in looking for a takedown. Penn tries to sprawl out of it but Villa keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Penn manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Villa closes the distance and clinches up with Penn, looking for a takedown. Villa pushes Penn against the cage but Penn circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Penn keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Penn tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Villa is able to avoid easily.
Villa shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Penn defends it nicely.
Villa seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Penn shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Villa is backing up but Penn catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Villa covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Penn Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!
