Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brian Hickson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael the machette (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brian Hickson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Michael the machette!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Gwen Towbar and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
the machette misses with a head kick.
Hickson lands with a nice combination. the machette backs away looking to recover.

Hickson has taken the fight to the clinch.
the machette is pressed up against the cage. Hickson has hold of a leg and is looking to drag the machette down to the mat. the machette avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Hickson has the machette up against the cage in a clinch.

Hickson pulls guard.
the machette trying to control the position from guard on top but Hickson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Hickson looking for submissions from the bottom but instead the machette passes into side control.
Hickson tries to bench press the machette off him but the machette keeps the position.
Hickson can't do much from the bottom here.
Hickson is looking to regain half guard here but the machette keeps moving and retains side control.

Hickson is working hard here to advance position.
the machette wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hickson keeps working.
the machette tries to stand but Hickson is controlling his head.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

and Hickson counters with a left to the body.

the machette looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Hickson!

Hickson's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Hickson tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Hickson keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Hickson wants to hold on but the machette pushes him away.
Hickson can't escape the position.
Hickson prevents any damage by holding on tight.
Hickson tries to lock up and control but the machette gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Hickson keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Hickson wants to control but the machette is having none of it.
Hickson can't escape the position.
the machette tries to control but Hickson wriggling away.

the machette swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Hickson is now in the machette's guard. A big mistake from the machette there, giving up the dominant position!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
the machette can't keep his opponent in guard - Hickson advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Well, if Hickson is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Hickson is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. the machette doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Hickson.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Hickson clinches up with the machette and pushes him back against the cage.

Hickson ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Hickson no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

the machette postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Hickson is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of the machette, into his guard.

Hickson postures up and lands a big shot to the machette's brow.
the machette is breathing heavily.
Hickson trying to control the position from guard on top but the machette is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Hickson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hickson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Hickson stands and steps away. the machette gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Hickson lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Hickson lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

Hickson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Hickson circles to his right before unloading a perfect head kick! the machette drops to the canvas, hurt badly! Hickson follows the machette to the ground and unloads with a series of strikes that force the referee to step in and end the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:10 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Brian Hickson!
