Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Mike Puska (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Micheal Cyde (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Micheal Cyde is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mike Puska!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Micheal Cyde!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Marco Blurström and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Puska gets the takedown into side control.
Cyde is looking to regain half guard here but Puska keeps moving and retains side control.

Puska is trying to get an arm triangle but Cyde is defending well.

Cyde is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Puska is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Cyde knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Cyde manages to work his way to half guard, despite Puska's best efforts.

Puska perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Cyde is trying to escape the mount.
Cyde is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, Puska has taken his back.
Cyde is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Puska shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Cyde is trying to defend but Puska finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Puska is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Cyde wants to sweep here but Puska controlling him for the moment.

Puska got a little sloppy there for a moment and Cyde has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Puska has managed to get both his arms back between Cyde's legs - danger averted.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Puska feints and as Cyde raises his hands in defense, Puska changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Puska is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Cyde tries to get to full guard but Puska has control of the leg.

Puska is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Still in half guard, Puska seems content to control.
Puska's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Cyde is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Puska is aware though and is defending well.
Cyde takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Puska seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Cyde for as long as he can get away with.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Cyde is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Puska off and has taken his back!
Puska manages to reverse the position and now he's in Cyde's guard. Nice work there by Puska.

Puska is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Cyde drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Cyde jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

and Cyde counters with a single leg into guard. Puska didn't expect that.

Cyde is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Puska escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Cyde gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Cyde stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Puska swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Cyde has gone for a leg lock! Puska slips out almost immediately though and dives into Cyde's guard.

Micheal Cyde has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Mike Puska.
Well Puska has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
