PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Muhammad Ali (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Charles Payette (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Charles Payette was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Charles Payette !
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Roosa Järviläinen and Tarja Halkonen.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Payette shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ali is trying to stand up here but Payette is controlling him well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Payette wants to stand up but Ali is controlling the position.

Payette is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Payette seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Ali does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Ali cracks Payette with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Payette showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Ali.
Ali lands with an uppercut that bounces Payette off the cage and back into rage.
Ali connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Ali lands a jab.
Ali slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Ali really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Payette has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Ali finds it's way round the side to connect with Payette 's head.
Ali misses with a kick to the body.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Ali misses with a double jab.
Ali lands with a right hand.
Ali moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Payette is rocked!

It looks like Charles Payette has been cut.
Ali walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Payette drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Ali swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Payette 's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Muhammad Ali!
