PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bernie McLoud (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Collins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McLoud comes into the arena with Sabaton - 40:1 blaring out of the sound system. Johnny Collins will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Steven Brown and Paul Tew.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McLoud shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

McLoud darts in and clinches Collins up against the cage.
McLoud has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Collins is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Collins jumps guard.
McLoud is looking to advance position but Collins has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Collins lands with some vicious ground and pound - can McLoud hang on?

McLoud is rocked!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Collins tries to stand up but he's trapped just for the moment.

Collins is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. McLoud can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Collins looks to land a combination but McLoud avoids it well.
Collins throws the left hand but McLoud avoids the punch easily.
Collins changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. McLoud tries to avoid it but Collins manages to keep hold of a leg and drag McLoud to the ground. McLoud escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Collins decides to stand up.
Collins moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
No joy there for Collins, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
McLoud takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
McLoud shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Collins counters with a nice body kick.
This has been an exciting period of action!

McLoud is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Collins pulls his head out easily.

That's time! McLoud's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

It looks like Johnny Collins has been cut.

McLoud decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

and Collins connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
McLoud misses with a takedown
and Collins counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Collins has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. McLoud avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Collins breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
McLoud gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Collins feints and then cracks McLoud's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow McLoud down.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Collins shoots in for a takedown. Oh, that's a huge slam! McLoud is on queer street and Collins is pounding down on him with a barage of strikes. The ref is forced to step in and stop the fight. Great finish!
