Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between joel williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Francois Pignon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pignon has chosen Monster as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. The key to victory for joel williams has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Skip Squint and Damien Edna.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
williams throws a right and a left that both miss.

williams drives through and clinches with Pignon against the cage.
Pignon drops down looking for an ankle pick but williams pulls his leg out and moves away.
williams throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Pignon takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Pignon swats away the attempt to clinch by williams.

Pignon shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in williams's guard.
Pignon stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. williams swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Pignon has gone for a leg lock! williams slips out almost immediately though and dives into Pignon's guard.
williams wants to stand but Pignon is controlling his posture from full guard.

Pignon is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and williams defends well.

williams gets to his feet - Pignon follows without any prompting.
Pignon shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as williams sprawls well. williams wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Pignon gets slowly back to his feet.
A combination from williams does no damage.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pignon working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. williams doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. williams manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
