Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Robert Paulig (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Juhani Ilves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ilves tries a head kick but it misses.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ilves manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Ilves might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Paulig kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
No luck for Ilves with that takedown attempt.
Ilves scores with a one two! Paulig had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Ilves shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Ilves was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Ilves fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Ilves takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Ilves is working to isolate an arm here. It's a choreographed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Ilves extends the arm and Paulig is forced to tap!
