The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Akiyama fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Akiyama slips a jab from Hichu.
A jab from Hichu finds it's way through Akiyama's defenses.
Hichu throws a leg kick but Akiyama sees it coming and moves out of range.
Hichu misses with a straight left.
Hichu throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Akiyama gets a takedown into half guard.

Akiyama is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Hichu is just riding it out for now. Akiyama eventually gives up the hold.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
