Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tommie Chong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sean Dignam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tommie Chong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sean Dignam!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Gwen Towbar and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chong stuffs the takedown.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
No luck for Dignam with that takedown attempt.
Chong throws a hook to the side of Dignam's head but Dignam sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Dignam ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Chong lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Dignam circles away quickly and effectively.

Dignam shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Dignam looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Chong moves into the clinch.

Chong escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Chong fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Dignam on the side of the head.

Dignam shoots in for a takedown but Chong shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Dignam is looking for a kimura but Chong is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Dignam to get the leverage.

Chong makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Chong.
Chong is pulling down on Dignam's head. It's preventing any offense from Dignam, at least for the moment.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Dignam shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Chong is trying to defend but Dignam finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Dignam is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Tommie Chong will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

A looping hook to the body misses from Chong. Dignam does a little dance to reset his feet.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Dignam keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Chong's efforts to push away.

Chong lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Chong.

Dignam takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Dignam thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Chong tries to bench press Dignam off him but Dignam keeps the position.

Dignam goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Chong has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Dignam but great work by Chong.

Dignam is looking for a sweep. Chong is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Chong, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
