The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Mitchell or perhaps it was just good defense by Mcdonald which made him look bad.

Mcdonald scores with a takedown into Mitchell's guard.
Mcdonald slips nicely into half guard.
Mitchell is refusing to be controlled, as Mcdonald sits in half guard.
Mitchell knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mcdonald on the ground.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mcdonald pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Mitchell might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Mcdonald takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Mitchell postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Mcdonald in real trouble here! The ref calls for Mcdonald to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
