Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between William McGrady (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Skylor Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think McGrady might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Scotland The Brave. Smith has chosen God's gonna cut you down as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 1, fighting out of London, William McGrady!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Skylor Smith!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Richard Clark and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Smith throws a right and a left that both miss.
McGrady shoots in looking for a takedown. Smith tries to sprawl out of it but McGrady keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Smith manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Smith uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Smith throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
McGrady fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Smith misses with a wild combination.
Smith swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Smith stuffs the takedown.
Smith looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Smith tries to bum rush McGrady with a series of wild strikes but McGrady uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Smith throws a right hand that McGrady ducks under and follows up with a left that McGrady also avoids with ease.

Smith misses with a head shot. McGrady uses the momentum to regain guard.
McGrady wants to sweep but no luck.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

McGrady shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Smith manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
McGrady is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
McGrady is breathing heavily.
Smith tries to stand but McGrady is controlling from the bottom.
Smith throws and elbow that misses. McGrady uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Smith's guard. Nice move by McGrady!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
McGrady postures up.
Smith wants to sweep here but McGrady controlling him for the moment.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
McGrady lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Smith moves out of range as McGrady throws a body kick.
McGrady has a takedown stuffed.
William McGrady is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Smith will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Smith throws a leg kick but McGrady checks it.
McGrady throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Smith shoots in for a takedown but McGrady shows good takedown defense.
McGrady fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Smith avoids it really well and circles away.

McGrady closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Smith to the mat! Smith manages to get full guard.
Smith is breathing heavily.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
McGrady stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Smith swivels though and keeps the full guard.

McGrady pushing down on Smith's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
McGrady seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Smith does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
McGrady lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
McGrady is trying to control the action in half guard but Smith is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Smith tries to get to full guard but McGrady has control of the leg.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
McGrady lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

McGrady wants to control but Smith is keeping him busy.
McGrady looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Smith with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
McGrady seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

McGrady tries to pass to full mount but Smith defends it.

McGrady seems to be looking for submissions.
Smith keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

McGrady throwing shots but Smith is blocking nicely.
McGrady uses his free foot to push down on Smith's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Smith.

McGrady cracks Smith with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Smith is bucking up trying to escape but McGrady cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Smith is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

McGrady has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Smith is desperately trying to improve his position but McGrady has a good base and remains in mount.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!



McGrady closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

McGrady is trying to get an arm triangle but Smith is defending well.

McGrady goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Smith has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for McGrady but great work by Smith.
McGrady takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Smith cracks McGrady with a big right hand but McGrady just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
McGrady tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Smith wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

McGrady is trying to control Smith's posture but Smith avoids it.

McGrady gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
McGrady regains full guard. Nicely done.
Smith trying to stand up but can't free himself from McGrady's guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Smith accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Smith is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but McGrady has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Smith is looking to defend but McGrady has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Smith! McGrady pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Smith taps out and this one is all over!
