Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Fedor Emelianenko!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Alec Ball and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from Bourne does no damage.
Bourne fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Emelianenko shoots in and drives through. Bourne sprawls well.
Emelianenko throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Bourne shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Emelianenko counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Emelianenko gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Emelianenko misses with a jab, cross combination.
Emelianenko swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Bourne counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Emelianenko is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Bourne dodges the punch combination from Emelianenko.
Emelianenko looks to score with a jab to the body but Bourne is just out of range.

and Emelianenko counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Emelianenko is trying to control. Bourne wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Emelianenko has Bourne pressed against the cage, preventing Bourne from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Emelianenko postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Bourne is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Emelianenko, into his guard.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Emelianenko is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Bourne throws and elbow that misses. Emelianenko uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Bourne's guard. Nice move by Emelianenko!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Bourne is looking to stand up but Emelianenko isn't so interested in that idea.
Emelianenko cracks Bourne with a solid left hand.

Bourne manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Emelianenko manages to get himself to full guard.

That's time! Bourne's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Bourne tries to bum rush Emelianenko with a series of wild strikes but Emelianenko uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

It looks like Mark Bourne has been cut.
Bourne throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

and Emelianenko counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Bourne's guard now.

Emelianenko has one foot on Bourne's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Bourne moves into range and clinches up with Emelianenko.
Bourne wants to break the clinch but can't.
Emelianenko tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Bourne prevents a takedown attempt there.

Bourne breaks from the clinch.
Bourne closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Emelianenko fails to land the takedown.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Emelianenko tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Emelianenko has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
