Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jeremy Pederson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Stanton Friedmon!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Columbo Gatti and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Friedmon on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

Friedmon closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Pederson to the mat! Pederson manages to get full guard.
Pederson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Friedmon is one step ahead there.
Friedmon must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Friedmon cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Friedmon really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pederson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Friedmon is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Pederson reverses the position - he's now on top in Friedmon's guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Friedmon can do anything to dispel that myth.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Pederson thows a body kick. Friedmon tries to catch it but that hurt him.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Friedmon wants to control from the top but Pederson keeps moving.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Pederson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Pederson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Pederson is keen to just control but Friedmon is a slippery customer.

Friedmon is controlling Pederson's trapped leg to prevent Pederson from advancing to side control.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Friedmon tries to roll over but Pederson keeps him under control.
Friedmon manages to get to full guard.
Friedmon is pulling down on Pederson's head. It's preventing any offense from Pederson, at least for the moment.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Pederson connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.


Friedmon is rocked!
Pederson is throwing a storm of strikes! Right hook, left hook and follows it up with a spinning back fist! Friedmon hits the canvas like a rag doll! And just like that, this one is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:23 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Jeremy Pederson!
