Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ippo Mash (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Valko Strange (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Ippo Mash has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ippo Mash!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Valko Strange!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Mash.
Strange is looking for a sweep.
Strange wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Strange tries to bench press Mash off him but Mash keeps the position.
Mash wants to lay and pray for a moment but Strange keeps working.
Strange is looking to reverse the position.
Strange struggling a bit here.
Mash is looking to take a break and control but Strange is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Mash avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Strange shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Mash missing with punches from the bottom.
Mash is trying to escape back to his feet but Strange uses the scramble to pass into side control.

Mash manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Mash gets full guard.
Mash tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Strange trying to control but Mash is working from the bottom.

Strange decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Mash, up you get!

Strange shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Strange slips nicely into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mash tries to roll over but Strange keeps him under control.
Mash gets back to full guard.
Strange slips nicely into half guard.

Strange sitting and controlling from the half guard.

Strange is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Mash has managed to free his arm - good work.
Mash has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Strange is working away from the top position though.

Strange is looking for a kimura but Mash is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Strange to get the leverage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Valko Strange dominated that round.
That's time! Mash's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Strange bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Strange works to advance to full mount. Mash defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Mash wants to control but Strange is having none of it.
Strange lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Mash hang on?
Strange lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Strange controlling the position easily from mount.

Strange moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Mash has worked his arm free - good work by Mash!

Mash gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Strange looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Mash tries to get to full guard but Strange has control of the leg.

Strange is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Mash is just riding it out for now. Strange eventually gives up the hold.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Strange is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Strange is breathing heavily.
Mash flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Strange lands a nice short elbow.
Strange trying to pass the guard but Mash defending well.
Strange lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Mash wants to improve his position but Strange is controlling well.
Strange seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Strange drops an elbow to the side of Mash's head.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Strange in particular looking to stall.
Valko Strange has got the better of the ground game so far.
Mash wants to control but Strange is keeping busy.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Strange trying to pass the guard but Mash defending well.
Strange working the head and body with strikes.
Strange perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Mash looking for submissions off his back.
Strange passes the guard and advances to mount!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Valko Strange showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Mash moves in looking to clinch but Strange pushes him off.
Mash darts in trying to clinch

and Strange counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Strange pulls guard successfully.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mash pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Strange is keeping the position for now.
Mash throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Strange works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Strange controlling Mash's posture.

Strange scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Strange circles away from the clinch attempt

so Strange counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Strange stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mash swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Strange stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mash shoots and misses

and Strange counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Mash!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Strange avoids the attempt from Mash to control.
Strange sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Strange goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Mash turns into him and now he's in Strange's guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Mash accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Strange holds on and takes a little breather.

Mash avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Mash trying to control but Strange is working from the bottom.
Strange striking off his back but it's not causing Mash any problems.
Mash wants to stand but Strange has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Strange lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Mash!
Ippo Mash has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Valko Strange is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Strange wants to take Mash's back but he can't do it this time.

And that's the end of the fight!
Valko Strange comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Strange has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
