PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Luca Brasi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gregor Clegane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Clegane has chosen Barbie Girl as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. The key to victory for Luca Brasi has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brasi throws a nice looking combination but Clegane bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Brasi closes the distance and clinches.
Clegane is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Clegane lands a nice elbow.

It looks like Luca Brasi has been cut.
Brasi lands with a right to the head.

Clegane ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Clegane no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Clegane drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Clegane jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Clegane stands and throws Brasi's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Brasi regains half guard there - taking advantage of Clegane's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.

Clegane thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Brasi's head.
Brasi makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Brasi.
Clegane is in close to Brasi's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Brasi is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Brasi is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Brasi looks to land a combination but Clegane avoids it well.
A jab lands there for Brasi.

Brasi shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Clegane's guard.

Clegane is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Clegane takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Clegane takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Brasi postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Clegane is desperately trying to improve his position but Brasi has a good base and remains in mount.

Brasi moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Clegane has worked his arm free - good work by Clegane!
Brasi wants to control but Clegane is keeping him busy.

Clegane is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Brasi defends well.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Clegane has gone for a leg lock! Brasi slips out almost immediately though and dives into Clegane's guard.
Brasi is looking to work some ground and pound but Clegane has wrist control.

Brasi drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Clegane manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Brasi has Clegane in his guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Brasi's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. And we move into the final round!

Brasi shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Clegane pinned against the cage. Clegane gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
A chopping leg kick lands by Clegane.
Clegane scores with a kick to the midsection.
Brasi stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Clegane.
Brasi blocks a leg kick.
Clegane lands with a kick to the ribs.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Clegane thuds his shin into the meat of Brasi's side.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Brasi misses with a looping right.

Clegane closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Clegane wants to lay and pray for a moment but Brasi keeps working.

Clegane wants to control but Brasi is keeping him busy.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Clegane tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Clegane creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Brasi sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Brasi defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Clegane.
Brasi stuffs the takedown.
A leg kick checked by Brasi.
Brasi lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Clegane backs up against the cage.
Brasi rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Clegane moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Gregor Clegane seems to be getting the better of the standup.
A combination from Brasi does no damage.
Clegane fails with a takedown attempt.
Luca Brasi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gregor Clegane.

Brasi misses with a few strikes there.
Brasi moves in looking to clinch but Clegane pushes him off.
Clegane throws a solid leg kick but Brasi takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Clegane.

Clegane gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Clegane utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Brasi drops back, looking for a kneebar! Clegane looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Clegane looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Clegane!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
