PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eric Boon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones has chosen Oasis - Fuckin' In The Bushes as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Steve Jones told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Colin Fotheringham and Andrew Berry.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Boon moves away.
Jones misses with a hook. Boon ducked under it nicely.
Jones swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Jones misses with a looping right.
Boon plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Jones digs a good hook to Boon's body.
Jones misses with a straight right.
Boon pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Jones misses the jab.
Jones takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Boon stalks Jones and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Jones's face. Jones staggers backwards, shaken.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Boon avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Boon scores with a nice head shot.
Boon comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
The fighters circling - Jones throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Jones misses with an uppercut. Boon saw that one coming.
Boon displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Jones throws out the jab.
Boon defending well as Jones loads up on a big left hand.
Boon throws a sloppy head kick and Jones moves out of range easily.
A slow jab from Jones misses its intended target.
Boon steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Jones.

Boon moves out of range of the strikes.
A head kick misses from Boon.
Jones missing with a left hand there. Boon was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Jones misses with an uppercut.
Boon scores with a jab to the head.
Jones is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.
Boon steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Jones.
Jones swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Jones throws a sloppy body shot
and Boon counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Jones looks gassed!
Boon scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Boon fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Boon lands with a kick to the temple. Jones shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Boon knocks Jones to the floor with a head kick! Can he finish him!?

Jones is rocked!

Boon has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Jones is still on wobbly legs! Can Boon finish him?
Boon circles to his right before unloading a perfect head kick! Jones drops to the canvas, hurt badly! Boon follows Jones to the ground and unloads with a series of strikes that force the referee to step in and end the fight! This one is all over!
