Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rik Lock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Sanders (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Sanders's choice of entrance music: Sandstorm. Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Nick Sanders enters the ring!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Rik Lock!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Nick Sanders!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Daniel Bishop and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lock drives through with a takedown into guard.
Sanders utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Lock drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Sanders dives on top into guard.
Lock keeping moving, preventing Sanders from controlling successfully.

Lock manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Lock lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Lock avoids the attempt from Sanders to control.
Sanders keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Sanders is in a horrible position here. Lock smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Lock has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Sanders is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Lock pulls his head out easily.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Lock cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Lock is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Sanders to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Sanders shrugs it off.
Sanders is desperately trying to improve his position but Lock has a good base and remains in mount.
Sanders is in a horrible position here. Lock smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Lock is trying to control the action in half guard but Sanders is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Lock lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Lock is looking to control Sanders's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Lock avoid being mounted?

Sanders is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Sanders is working for a kimura but Lock is defending it quite comfortably.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Lock lands a really nice looking cross but Sanders seems unphased.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Lock connects with a nice short shot to Sanders's temple.

Lock looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Sanders with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Lock lands a nice short elbow.

Lock is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Sanders defends it well.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Sanders uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Lock.
Lock works Sanders's body with a nice hook.

Sanders closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Sanders lands in his opponent's guard.
Lock lands a couple of decent looking body shots there.

Lock can't keep his opponent in guard - Sanders advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Lock throws a strike from the bottom but Sanders passes into side control!

Sanders wants to control but Lock is keeping him busy.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Sanders seems to be looking for submissions.
Lock trying to control from the bottom.
Sanders wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lock keeps working.
Lock is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Sanders's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Sanders's back!
The referee is taking a good look at Sanders as he is on the wrong end of some big shots from Lock!
Sanders manages to reverse the position and now he's in Lock's guard. Nice work there by Sanders.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Lock trying to control the position from guard on top but Sanders is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Rik Lock is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Lock is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Sanders avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Sanders looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Lock trying to control but Sanders is working from the bottom.
Lock is in close to Sanders's body, working some short punches and elbows.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Rik Lock.
Well Lock has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
