Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Crack Corn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jutta Urpilainen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Crack Corn might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Jimmy cracks heads and he dont care. Jutta Urpilainen acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jimmy Crack Corn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jutta Urpilainen!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Winston Howard and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Crack Corn swats away the attempt to clinch by Urpilainen.
Jimmy Crack Corn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Urpilainen tries to clinch but Crack Corn moves out of range.

Urpilainen takes the fight into the clinch.

Urpilainen drags the fight down to the ground.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Urpilainen controlling the position.

Crack Corn is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Crack Corn in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Urpilainen tries to land a sweep but no joy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Urpilainen lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Crack Corn!

Urpilainen is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Crack Corn has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Crack Corn!
Urpilainen is pulling down on Crack Corn's head. It's preventing any offense from Crack Corn, at least for the moment.
Urpilainen avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Urpilainen escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Crack Corn gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Urpilainen has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Crack Corn can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Urpilainen wants to sweep but no luck.
Urpilainen is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Crack Corn with a nice head shot there.

Crack Corn drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Urpilainen dives on top into guard.
Urpilainen wants to pass the guard but Crack Corn is keeping the position.
Urpilainen slips nicely into half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Urpilainen is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Crack Corn sees it coming and defends easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Urpilainen not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Crack Corn has one foot on Urpilainen's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Crack Corn swats away the attempt to clinch by Urpilainen.

Urpilainen fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Crack Corn sprawls well initially but Urpilainen persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Urpilainen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Crack Corn keeps working.
Urpilainen works his way into full mount!

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Urpilainen swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Crack Corn is now in Urpilainen's guard. A big mistake from Urpilainen there, giving up the dominant position!

Crack Corn stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Urpilainen swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Urpilainen is trying to keep Crack Corn in close.

Urpilainen has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Crack Corn can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jutta Urpilainen dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Urpilainen looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Crack Corn is fending him off so far but Urpilainen persists. Nope, Crack Corn circles away and we're back to standing.

Urpilainen closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Urpilainen decides to pull guard.
Crack Corn wants to control from the top but Urpilainen keeps moving.

Crack Corn thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Crack Corn got a little sloppy there for a moment and Urpilainen has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Crack Corn has managed to get both his arms back between Urpilainen's legs - danger averted.

Urpilainen kicks off Crack Corn and gets to his feet.

Crack Corn keeps the fight on the outside.

Urpilainen shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Urpilainen was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Urpilainen is landing with some decent strikes but Crack Corn is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Urpilainen has control of Crack Corn's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Crack Corn regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Crack Corn avoids a strike by Urpilainen and manages to complete a very nice reversal in the process, to end up in Urpilainen's guard! Fantastic escape!

Urpilainen cracks Crack Corn with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Urpilainen wants to control the pace but Crack Corn is squirming around nicely.
Urpilainen looking to ground and pound but Crack Corn is blocking nicely.
Urpilainen with a couple of short strikes.
Crack Corn tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Crack Corn in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Urpilainen has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Crack Corn's face.
Crack Corn is bucking up trying to escape but Urpilainen cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Urpilainen unloads with some shots from mount but Crack Corn bucks and avoids them well.

Jutta Urpilainen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!



Urpilainen shoots in and bounces Crack Corn off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Urpilainen pushes down on Crack Corn's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Urpilainen performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Urpilainen seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Crack Corn does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Crack Corn looks like he's trying to stand up.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Crack Corn is in trouble now - Urpilainen has advanced to mount!

Urpilainen breaks from Crack Corn's wrist control and lands an elbow.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Crack Corn is squirming around, avoiding Urpilainen's attempts to control the action.
Urpilainen lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Urpilainen can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Crack Corn is looking to escape.

Urpilainen wants to finish this one by submission but Crack Corn is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Urpilainen.
