Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Pat Calas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and M J Shain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Calas comes to the cage accompanied by Sonata Arctica - Fade to Black. Shain has chosen Thunderstruck as his entrance music. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that M J Shain was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Calas wants to clinch up but Shain keeps it at a distance.
Calas closes the distance and clinches up with Shain, looking for a takedown. Calas pushes Shain against the cage but Shain circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Calas swats away the attempt to clinch by Shain.

and Shain counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Calas gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Shain digs a good body shot into Calas's ribs.

Shain has taken the fight to the clinch.
Shain wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Shain's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Calas has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Shain avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Shain is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Calas keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Shain's efforts to push away.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Calas goes for an armbar but Shain turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Shain.

Shain loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Shain postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Calas is trying to keep Shain in close.

Calas escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Shain gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Shain cracks Calas with a solid left hand.
Shain stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Calas swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Calas lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Shain!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

The fighters circling - Shain throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Shain throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Calas loads up on a big right hand but Shain slips the punch.

Shain thuds his right hand into Calas's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Calas gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

Calas clinches up with Shain and pushes him back against the cage.
Calas has a couple of punches blocked by Shain.
Shain is trying to force a seperation but Calas has the dominant position.
Calas is pushing Shain up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Shain blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Shain manages to break the clinch.
Shain cracks Calas with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Calas tries to clinch but Shain is having none of it.

Shain breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Shain lands with a hook. Calas tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Calas thows a left - swing and a miss!
Shain looks for the body kick but Calas saw that one coming.
Shain cracks a nice hook into Calas's ribs.

A left and a right from Shain both land. Nice combination.
Calas misses with a series of wild punches.
Shain is looking to score with low kicks.
Shain lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Calas at a distance.
Calas moves out of range of the leg kick from Shain.
Shain swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Calas.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Calas takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Calas is rocked!

Shain drops Calas with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Calas! Shain dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
