Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Shaq Double J (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Keast Kann (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Double J comes to the cage accompanied by GSP - Im not impressed. Keast Kann will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Keast Kann!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Colin Fotheringham and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Double J shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Kann manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Double J trying to control the position from guard on top but Kann is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Kann is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Double J defends well.
Double J loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Kann wants to sweep but no luck.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Double J accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Kann wants to sweep here but Double J controlling him for the moment.

Double J stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Double J is trying to ground and pound but Kann uses the momentary lack of control by Double J to regain half guard.

Kann controls Double J momentarily but Double J frees himself.
Double J is in close to Kann's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Double J might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Kann working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Double J doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Double J manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Double J stands and steps away. Kann gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

and Double J decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Kann's guard.
Double J is breathing heavily.
Kann is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Kann is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Kann wants to pass to mount but Double J is defending the position.
Kann is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Double J is trying to control but can't.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shaq Double J dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Double J gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Kann to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Kann sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Double J's guard.
Kann wants to lay and pray for a moment but Double J keeps working.

Double J tries to kick Kann off but Kann keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Kann is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Double J has managed to free his arm - good work.
Kann is figuring out what he wants to do next.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Kann seems to be working for a kimura but Double J defends the submission attempt.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Double J closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Kann regains half guard.
Kann moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Kann avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Shaq Double J overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Kann takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Kann is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Kann can't do much from the bottom here.
Double J scores with a couple of short elbows.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Double J wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kann keeps working.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kann can't do much from the bottom here.
Double J working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Double J throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Kann works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
Kann is controlling Double J's position as best he can from this difficult position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Kann wants to control but Double J is keeping busy and won't allow it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Keast Kann will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Kann has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Double J is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Kann yanks on the arm and Double J is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Kann.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:33 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Keast Kann! Keast Kann retains his bantamweight title!
