The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valesquez swats away the attempt to clinch by Walters.
Valesquez throws a head kick that misses.
Walters throws a series of punches but Valesquez moves out of range.
Valesquez throws a low kick, looking for Walters's leg but Walters calmly moves out of range.
Walters moves in looking to clinch but Valesquez pushes him off.

Valesquez shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Walters's guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Valesquez passes into half guard.
Valesquez has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Valesquez prevents Walters from getting the reversal.

Valesquez is working to isolate an arm here. It's a choreographed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Valesquez extends the arm and Walters is forced to tap!
