And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Phil Davis!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Anthony Taglia and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Taylor throws a leg kick but Davis checks it.
Davis dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Taylor moves out of range as Davis strikes.
Taylor turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Davis misses with a looping right.
Taylor throws a leg kick but Davis sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Davis misses with a body shot.
Davis comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
A head kick from Taylor lands but Davis takes it in his stride.


It looks like Phil Davis has been cut.
Davis uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Taylor.
Taylor lands with a shot to the body.
Davis looks to land a right hand but Taylor moved out of range.
Taylor chopping away at his opponent's legs.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Davis connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Taylor jabs Davis right on the nose. Davis blinks but takes it well.
Davis doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Davis looks gassed!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Taylor ducks under a wild hook from Davis.
Taylor tries to clinch there but Davis circles away.
Taylor throws a quick inside leg kick.
Taylor connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Davis blocks a jab.
Taylor slips a straight right by Davis.
Davis tries to move into range but Taylor moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Phil Davis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Davis takes a swing at Taylor's ribcage but misses.
Taylor cracks a nice hook into Davis's ribs.
Davis walks into a straight right hand from Taylor.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Taylor closes the distance and clinches.
Taylor leaning against his opponent.
Taylor lands a shot to the body.
Taylor gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.

Taylor breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A good leg kick by Taylor.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Taylor throws a jab but it's blocked by Davis.

Taylor lands a left and a right that send Davis crashing to the mat, dazed. Taylor thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


Davis is rocked!


That has opened up Phil Davis's cut even more.
Taylor drops Davis with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Davis! Taylor dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (strikes). Jayceon Taylor!
