Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ranta Ringen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, John Madsen!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Arvi Lind and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Madsen throws a head kick that misses.
Ringen shoots in for a takedown but Madsen shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Madsen tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Madsen lands a head kick. Ringen smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Madsen displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Ringen.
Ringen tries to close the distance and clinch up but Madsen swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Ringen shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Madsen but Madsen pushes him off and we're back to square one.

and Ringen counters with a single leg into guard. Madsen didn't expect that.
Madsen is trying to keep Ringen in close.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Madsen wriggles free and stands up.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Madsen pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Ringen passes into side control, despite Madsen's attempt to control the position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Madsen is trying to control Ringen's posture but Ringen avoids it.
Madsen really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ringen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

John Madsen comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
