Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Alexander Ovechkin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Saunders (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ovechkin's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Metallica - Seek and Destroy. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Konstantin Menshow and Ivan Kurochkin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ovechkin lands a jab-cross combination.
It looks like Matt Saunders has been cut.
Saunders gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Saunders escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ovechkin gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Ovechkin knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Saunders on the ground.

Ovechkin wants to get up but he can't break Saunders's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Saunders is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Saunders seems to be working for a kimura but Ovechkin defends the submission attempt.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Saunders is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Ovechkin is just riding it out for now. Saunders eventually gives up the hold.

Ovechkin closes the distance and clinches.
Ovechkin wants a takedown.
Saunders is pressed up against the cage. Ovechkin has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Saunders down to the mat. Saunders avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Ovechkin shoots in for a takedown but Saunders shows good takedown defense.

Saunders throws a sloppy head kick and Ovechkin moves out of range easily.

Saunders feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Saunders is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Ovechkin doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Saunders.

Saunders quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Saunders but it's paid off an Ovechkin is forced to tap! Nice work by Saunders.
