Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Afro Lete (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ray Shifflett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Albert Achterberg and Aafke Stam.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shifflett gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Lete stalls.
Shifflett missing with knees to the body.
Shifflett trying to land knees to the body.
Lete is trying to break the clinch but Shifflett has him pressed against the cage.
Shifflett throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Lete blocks it with crossed arms.

Shifflett turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Shifflett is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Lete will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Lete tries to strike from the bottom but misses.
Lete seems a little lost for a moment, as Shifflett dominates the positioning.
Shifflett working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Shifflett passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Lete!
Shifflett takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Shifflett controlling the position easily from mount.
Lete tries to lock up and control but Shifflett gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Shifflett cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Shifflett has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Lete is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Lete really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
