Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between TJ Tiu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ambrosio Gastelu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Hugh Johnson and Bruno Hogan.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gastelu tries to close the distance and clinch up but Tiu swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Tiu closes the distance and clinches up with Gastelu, looking for a takedown. Tiu pushes Gastelu against the cage but Gastelu circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Tiu drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Tiu jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

and Tiu counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Gastelu's guard now.

Tiu stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gastelu swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Gastelu might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Tiu kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tiu stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gastelu swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Tiu postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Gastelu is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Tiu, into his guard.

Tiu had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Gastelu defends it easily.

Gastelu got a little sloppy there for a moment and Tiu has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gastelu has managed to get both his arms back between Tiu's legs - danger averted.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gastelu accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Tiu fails with the takedown.

so Tiu counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Tiu jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Gastelu is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Gastelu and Tiu has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
