Canmelianenko has chosen Emperor - The Loss And Curse Of Reverence as his entrance music. Genival Lacerda has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rodef Canmelianenko!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Mauricio Rocha and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Lacerda.

Lacerda wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Canmelianenko, who protects the arm well.
Lacerda trying to control the position but Canmelianenko is working away.
Canmelianenko wants to get back to his feet but Lacerda is dominant here and he's now got Canmelianenko's back!

Canmelianenko has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from Lacerda.

Canmelianenko manages to get to his feet, escaping the difficult position.
Lacerda closes the distance and clinches up with Canmelianenko, looking for a takedown. Lacerda pushes Canmelianenko against the cage but Canmelianenko circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Canmelianenko lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.


It looks like Genival Lacerda has been cut.
A bone on bone clash there as Lacerda blocks the leg kick.

A right-left combo lands from Canmelianenko.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Lacerda blocks a low kick nicely.

Canmelianenko moves into the clinch.

Lacerda looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Canmelianenko breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Canmelianenko ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Lacerda moves away.

Lacerda slips a jab and a cross from Canmelianenko.
Lacerda looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Canmelianenko is fending him off so far but Lacerda persists. Nope, Canmelianenko circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Genival Lacerda. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Lacerda closes the distance and clinches up with Canmelianenko, looking for a takedown. Lacerda pushes Canmelianenko against the cage but Canmelianenko circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Canmelianenko buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Canmelianenko fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Lacerda manages to avoid it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Canmelianenko jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Canmelianenko rushes Lacerda and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Lacerda drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Canmelianenko breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Lacerda looks for a takedown but Canmelianenko sprawls well.
Canmelianenko smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Canmelianenko has closed the distance and engaged Lacerda in a clinch.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Canmelianenko's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Canmelianenko lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Canmelianenko cracks Lacerda with an open hand slap.


Genival Lacerda's cut is getting worse.
Lacerda takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rodef Canmelianenko dominated that round.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Canmelianenko throws a right and a left that both miss.
Canmelianenko throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Lacerda.

Canmelianenko has closed the distance and engaged Lacerda in a clinch.
Lacerda goes for a takedown in the clinch but Canmelianenko prevents it.

Canmelianenko pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Rodef Canmelianenko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Genival Lacerda's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Canmelianenko misses with a two punch combination.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Canmelianenko throws a left jab followed by a right to the body, Oh Lacerda colapses and takes a barrage of punches from Canmelianenko as he moves to mount! the ref stops the fight and Lacerda is left battered and dazed whilst Canmelianenko and his camp cheer!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rodef Canmelianenko!
