The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

boy has taken the fight to the clinch.

boy pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Ryan Bader seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bader looks to land a combination but boy avoids it well.
boy on the wrong end of a nice jab.
boy takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
boy tries to clinch up but Bader circles away and keeps his distance.
Bader throws a right and a left that both miss.
Bader will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Bader stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Bader wants it to stay on the feet.

Bader gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows boy to score an easy takedown into full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bader tries to buck boy off but he can't manage it.

Bader wants to try and get back to his feet.
boy fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Bader takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
boy can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Bader is looking to escape.
Bader wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by boy.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, boy cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

boy fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Bader, pushing him back against the cage.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
Bader is trying to break free.
boy tries a knee to the head but Bader blocks it.
boy is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Bader gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Bader tries to break the clinch but boy is controlling the position.
boy can't get the takedown.
Bader wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
boy jumps guard but Bader stands there with boy around his waist. boy gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
boy's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Bader lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
boy works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
boy lands with a left to the head.
boy is working for takedown but Bader is calmly controlling the position for now.
Bader wants to break free but boy has control.
Bader misses with a hook to the ribs.
boy fails to pull the fight into his guard.

boy jumps guard and drags Bader to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

boy is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Bader wants to stand but boy has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

boy bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Bader's guard.
boy won't allow Bader to get back to his feet.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as boy accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
boy advances to half guard.
boy throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

boy stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
boy fails with a takedown attempt.
Bader takes a swing at boy's ribcage but misses.

boy tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Bader swivels and escapes.
Bader lands with an uppercut that bounces boy off the cage and back into rage.
Bader tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but boy was well out of range. Poor timing from Bader.
Ryan Bader is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
boy swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
boy fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Bader avoids it really well and circles away.
Bader misses with a series of wild punches.

boy tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Bader paws at him with a jab and circles away.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Bader fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

and boy counters by moving into the clinch.

boy gets through Bader's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

boy decides to pull guard.
boy manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Bader manages to get himself to full guard.

boy stands and steps away. Bader gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

boy has Bader pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. boy pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Bader tumbling to the mat - boy dives into Bader's guard.
Bader really doesn't want to stay on the ground with boy. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Bader wants to stand up but boy is controlling him.

boy pushes Bader back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Bader tries to work over boy's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Bader is pressed up against the cage. boy has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Bader down to the mat. Bader avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
