The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Stewart Dunkirk and Daniel Franklin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Venture shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts RX as he jumps to the side.
RX swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
RX tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Venture paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Venture moves out of range of the strikes.
RX fails with an attempt to clinch.
Venture pivots, looking for a leg kick but RX is out of range and Venture settles back down.
RX throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

It looks like Hank Venture has been cut.

RX closes the distance and clinches.
Venture jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as RX walks away with a smile on his face. Venture gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
RX throws a series of punches but Venture moves out of range.
Venture dodges the punch combination from RX.
Venture tries to work over RX's front leg with a kick but RX checks it.

Venture shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Venture looks to land a strike but RX avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

RX on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if RX tries to get out of the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Venture drops back looking for a leg! RX is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and RX manages to kick Venture off! Venture jumps back into RX's guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Venture trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Venture throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. RX was covering up waiting for the punch and Venture finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Venture stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. RX swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Venture has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Venture drops back looking for a leg! RX is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and RX manages to kick Venture off! Venture jumps back into RX's guard.

Venture drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Venture jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Venture should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

RX knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Venture on the ground.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Venture shoots in but RX avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Venture closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
RX is not content to let Venture control the position.
Venture staying calm.

Venture is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but RX is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Venture is looking to take a break and control but RX is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Venture swings around for an armbar but RX sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Venture's guard.
RX tries to stand but Venture is controlling from the bottom.
RX will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Venture working for a triangle but RX defends it easily.
Venture is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Hank Venture has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Bruno RX is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Venture is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
