Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bozigit Atayev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sebastian Gale (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gale throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Atayev.
Atayev goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Gale throws a series of punches but Atayev avoids them all with ease.
Gale walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Atayev lands a really nice looking cross but Gale seems unphased.
Atayev shoots in but no luck this time.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Gale on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Gale throws a head kick that misses.
Gale tries to clinch but Atayev is having none of it.
Atayev throws a series of strikes that have Gale backpedaling.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Gale tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Atayev paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Atayev clinches up with Gale and pushes him back against the cage.
Gale tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Atayev smiles and moves away.
Gale scores with a jab. Atayev acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

It looks like Bozigit Atayev has been cut.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Atayev has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Gale is proving hard to escape from.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Gale tries to keep at a distance but Atayev has taken the fight into the clinch.
Gale tries to break the clinch but Atayev is controlling the position.
Atayev scores with a knee to the head.
Atayev digs a right hand underneath Gale's ribcage. Gale let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Atayev tries to break free but Gale pushes him back against the cage.

Atayev's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Atayev feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Atayev seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Gale does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Atayev jumps guard and drags Gale to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Atayev wants to get back to his feet but Gale is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Gale wants to control from the top but Atayev keeps moving.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gale accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Gale looking to sit in guard and control but Atayev gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Gale really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Atayev. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Gale displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Atayev.

Atayev throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Gales head.
A frustrated look appears on Atayev's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Atayev scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Gale doesn't seem bothered though.

and Atayev counters with a one-two to the body.
Gale on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Gale fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Atayev manages to avoid it.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Gale lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Atayev has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Atayev and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Atayev is trying hard to land a takedown here. Gale sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Gale tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Atayev escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Atayev shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Gale as he avoids it easily.

Gale takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.

Gale tries to land knees in the clinch but Atayev avoids the damage to the body.

Atayev tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Gale throws a series of punches but Atayev moves out of range.
Gale slaps away a takedown attempt from Atayev, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Atayev darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Gale is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Atayev's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Atayev's back!

Gale misses with a punch to the head.
Atayev is trying to get back to his feet but Gale has full control of the position and if anything, Atayev has just worked his way into a worse spot.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Atayev has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from Gale.
Gale throwing lazy shots from the back mount that aren't doing any damage.
Atayev wants to escape the position.
Gale thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent.
Gale tries to get the hooks in deep but Atayev pushed the leg off.
Gale is trying to stick to Atayev's back but Atayev is turning into Gale. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Gale's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Atayev.

Gale has his foot on Atayev's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Atayev works his way back into a safe position though.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Gale fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Atayev.
Gale misses with a two punch combination.

Atayev darts in and clinches Gale up against the cage.
Gale jumps guard but Atayev stands there with Gale around his waist. Gale gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Atayev stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Atayev lands a left hand.
Atayev has Gale pressed against the cage, preventing Gale from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Atayev manages to break the clinch.
Atayev throws a nice looking combination but Gale bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Gale fails to land with a series of punches.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Gale.
Gale will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Atayev drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Gale is not content to let Atayev control the position.
Gale is trying to buck Atayev off.

Atayev is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Gale is trying to escape and Atayev transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Gale is forced to tap! Nice work there by Atayev! Very nice indeed!
